Simply in Balance

The statically balanced, J-shaped tonearm is internally damped within the tonearm tube and mounts on a reinforced aluminum mounting plate. Height adjustment, anti-skating with a thread and weight, and the included alignment template make switching to other cartridges a matter of just a few simple steps—and a pleasure for enthusiasts.

Calm in the Foundation

The frame consists of two layers of MDF with a special, permanently elastic adhesive in between: Constrained Layer Damping. This composite converts vibration energy into heat instead of transferring it to the pickup. Together with the newly developed, spring-loaded feet, this stabilizes the base. Your favorite records sound absolutely precise and lively.

Building on the success of our “ PLATINUM ” series (PLATINUM, PLATINUM SE, and PLATINUM Automatic EAS), we at sonoro have redefined the joy of vinyl—without, of course, losing sight of our “ German Audio Design ” commitment. In close collaboration with Karl-Heinz Fink, whose name is synonymous with exceptional sound quality regardless of price range, we have created the “ PLATINUM ” Signature, delivering an authentic and immediate listening experience.

Unpack, put it on, listen

The Ortofon 2M Red comes factory-assembled and adjusted, with a tonearm cable and alignment template included. If you decide to switch to a different system later, you’ll find everything you need: a headshell with an SME mount and built-in overhang markings, as well as a counterweight that balances a wide range of cartridges.

Focused on the essentials

That’s the short and sweet description of the PLATINUM Signature. But “the essentials” here mean neither “simple” nor “plain.” The latest model in our PLATINUM series has been redesigned in all key components and fine-tuned with attention to detail: a low-capacitance tonearm cable with a capacitance of less than 100 pF. A custom-made rubber-felt mat, with the felt side fitting precisely into the recess of the platter. A Delrin bearing. A motor control system that monitors speed via a sensor and continuously adjusts it. It’s the many small adjustments that ultimately make the big difference.

HiFi of the next level

In collaboration with industry icons Rainer Finck and Karl-Heinz Fink, sonoro has designed the Signature Line. In addition to the PLATINUM Signature, the line includes the MAESTRO Quantum Signature, the ORCHESTRA Slim Signature compact speakers, and the ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature floorstanding speakers. With this, sonoro is taking the next step: hi-fi with high-end standards, distinctive design, and superior sound quality—yet still affordable for a broader audience.

Pure Analog

Listen to vinyl records just as they are. To achieve this goal, we made a conscious decision with the PLATINUM Signature to do without certain features that are cherished by some and certainly useful for other listening applications. The electronics are stripped down to the essentials and redesigned specifically for this purpose: no Bluetooth, no lift, no end-of-track shut-off, no phono preamp. The PLATINUM Signature passes the signal on exactly as the stylus picks it up—so your amplifier should have a phono input. Not only that, but especially when used in conjunction with the True Fidelity mode of our MAESTRO Quantum Signature, this creates an unadulterated listening experience for vinyl and hi-fi enthusiasts alike.
